Nominations for the 2024 Rodeo Carolina are now open and will close on September 8. The event will be hosted at the world-famous Tryon International Equestrian Center and Resort in North Carolina from October 2-5.
With a total guaranteed payout of over $400,000, this WCRA Major Rodeo will be the richest rodeo east of the Mississippi River.

- $15,000 added money dedicated to the Timed Event Qualifying Rounds – $2,500 per discipline
Athletes are eligible to nominate their competitive efforts toward the WCRA Virtual Rodeo Qualifier (VRQ) for Segment RNC24 from March 11, 2024 through September 8, 2024 at 11:59pm CT. NOMINATE HERE
ELIGIBLE ATHLETES:
- BB, SB, BR – up to 10 athletes from the 2024 Rodeo Carolina Leaderboard
- TD, TR-HDR, TR-HLR, SW, BAW, GBR – up to Top 36 from the 2024 Rodeo Carolina Leaderboard
- #1-#6 Segment RNC24 Leaderboard athletes seeded into Progressive Rounds at no entry fee. If a seeded athlete choses to enter and participate in the Qualifying Rounds for payout they will be required to pay the entry fee.
GENERIC QUALIFIERS:
- IPRA 2024 Season standings leader as of posted standings on September 9th, 2024
- Tejas Rodeo WCRA Series winner following the September 7, 2024 event.
- Bill Picket Invitational Rodeo (BPIR) WCRA Series winner following the September 21, 2024 event.
- 2024 Festival Western St. Tite event in St. Tite, Quebec, Canada on September 12-15, 2024.
- Additional athletes may earn generic qualifications from additional select events. These events will be advertised in advance if applicable.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
- Athletes are required to have a minimum of fifteen (15) VRQ points on the WCRA Segment RNC24 Leaderboard in a discipline to be eligible to enter WCRA Rodeo Carolina.
- Contrary to prior WCRA event formats, NO athletes will be seeded in the final performance of competition.
- Timed Events – $250 per discipline in Qualifying Rounds – 70% jackpot payback based on Qualifying Round results
- Barrel Racing Buy Back Round: $250 – limit of 1 re-entry, no payout, advancement only
- Rough Stock – No entry fees
COMPETITION FORMAT
- Qualifying Rounds – Timed Events – 2 Rounds; Barrel Racing – 1 Round
- Barrel Racing Buy Back Round – 1 Round, minimum five (5) entries required to hold round.
- Progressive Round – all disciplines – 2 Rounds (clean slate – no previous times advance except for tie breakers)
- RNC Championship Round – 1 Round (clean slate) – 8 athletes
DISCIPLINE FORMATS:
- BB, SB, BR: Two (2) rounds in Progressive Round with eligible athletes advancing to RNC Championship round.
- TD, SW, TR, BAW – Two (2) Qualifying Rounds with eligible athletes advancing to Progressive round
- GBR – One (1) Qualifying Round with eligible athletes advancing to Progressive round
- Athletes not advancing are eligible to re-enter in the Buy-Back Round for $250.
ADVANCEMENT TO SUBSEQUENT ROUNDS:
- Advancement from Qualifying Rounds to Progressive Round:
- Timed Events – Qualifying Round 1 Winner, Qualifying Round 2 Winner, Top 4 from Qualifying Rounds 2 head Aggregate
- Barrel Racing – Top 4 Fastest Times from Qualifying Round, Top 2 Fastest Times from Buy Back Round
- Advancement from Progressive Round to RNC Championship Round:
- Progressive Rd 1 Winner, Progressive Rd 2 Winner, Top 6 from Progressive Rds 2 head Aggregate
