One More Win = $1 Million Triple Crown of Rodeo for Red-Hot RC Landingham

By: Kendra Santos

RC Landingham is one win away from $1 million. That’s right, with his $27,850 W at the $562,500 Utah Days of ’47 in Salt Lake City, the 2022 Rodeo Corpus Christi bareback riding champ will in December take his shot at the Triple Crown of Rodeo, which is a $1 million bonus up for grabs to any athlete(s) who manages to win three straight World Champions Rodeo Alliance majors and is presented by the Lazy E Arena. What does the Hat Creek, California cowboy have to say about it? Absolutely nothing.

“1, I don’t want to think about it,” Landingham said right after racking up 90.5 points aboard Championship Pro Rodeo’s Frontier Coffee’s Hooey Rocks in the Gold Medal Round on July 25. “And 2, I really don’t want to think about it.”

Landingham’s been on a heater, also including last week’s win at California Rodeo Salinas in his home state. With 88.5 points on Sankey’s Silver Screen, three-time Champ of the World Tim O’Connell was a close second at Days of ’47 for the silver medal. Utah cowboy Dean Arthur was 85.5 for the bronze.

“This is amazing,” Landingham told Days of ’47 announcer Anthony Lucia. “It’s been a great summer. I’ve never had things go this great in my career.” Andersen CBarC Photo
