WCRA ALIGNS WITH VIRTUAL BARREL RACING LEAGUE AND PREMIER TIMED EVENTS TO GIVE ATHLETES THE CHANCE TO EARN WCRA POINTS AT HOME

-Nominated Efforts To Count Towards Weekly Bonus and Segment Six Leaderboard-

WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) today announced they have aligned with VBR (Virtual Barrel Racing League) and PTE (Premier Timed Events)- two separate online competition promoters where athletes submit videos of their runs to the cyber organizations.

With these alignments, athletes now have the opportunity to nominate these division four level events and the opportunity to earn points that will count towards the WCRA Weekly Bonus and the segment six leaderboard (Days of ’47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo).

WCRA athletes who compete in VBR and nominate their efforts will earn division four competition or consolation points. The barrel race organization produces a 5D barrel race weekly that awards a payout including added money along with prizes and rewards for winners in each division. By entering in the VBR, users agree to an official set of VBR rules and guidelines.

Entry fees vary by week with entries being taken every Thursday–Sunday. When entering, competitors have the option to donate additional money to benefit those affected by COVI D-19. VBR will be collecting n95 masks along with additional supplies to donate to local hospitals.

Similar to VBR, PTE is a competition that allows athletes to compete without traveling through video-based jackpots with competitors entering using a video submission process.

All PTE events will open on Sundays and close the following Saturday. The entry fee (80% payout) for the jackpots will vary and are a three-head average.

PTE payouts will be applied the Monday following the close of the books. Entry fees are $25 per man. At this time; books are only open for breakaway roping and tie-down roping jackpots.

More information on VBR along with rules and guidelines can be found here while all PTE information can be found here. Nominations are currently underway for segment six- $1.125 Million Days of ’47 Rodeo, scheduled for July 21-25 in Salt Lake City.
